David and Jennifer’s Madeira wedding video

David and Jennifer

It was such a pleasure working with David and Jennifer to plan their wedding.

Initially they started the planning themselves and had managed to book the Church, photographer and a Tuk Tuk to take them to the venue.  However they contacted me as they were finding it difficult to finalise plans and to arrange all the other details for their day.

Being based in Madeira I was able meet the people face to face that they had booked and confirm all the arrangements.  I then organised their hair and make-up, flowers for the Church and Reception, musicians, and their reception meal at the Cliff Bay.  They had decided against having a formal wedding cake, so I suggested a fruit sculpture instead.  They loved this idea and went for two, one at the Church reception and one for the evening meal. They also let slip that David loves parrots and so we arranged for this to be the theme of the sculptures.

So the day came and I was there to meet and greet all the guests at the Cliff Bay hotel and hand out button holes to everyone.  The fleet of Tuk Tuk’s arrived and they all drove in convoy to the Church.  The Ceremony was magical and even included the Groom serenading his Bride.

Following the Ceremony, the Church had organised a lovely lunch for everyone and we had classical music in the back ground. And of course we had our first parrot sculpture centre stage.

After lunch the Bride and Groom went with the photographer to some local gardens, with a sea view, making the prefect back drop for their wedding photos.  It was important to them to have their photos reflect the island.  We had arranged the Tuk Tuks to take the guests back to their hotels to freshen up before the evening meal.

Our parrot had made such a hit that no one wanted to leave him behind, so he travelled with me in my trusty Renault 5 back to the hotel….with his seat belt on!

Everyone met up again at the Cliff Bay and I was there to guide all the guests to a private bar with the most stunning views.  This is where I left my happy couple, enjoy the most amazing meal from the Cliff Bay Hotel.  Their service was fantastic.

Throughout the day I managed to capture snippets of the events and put together a little video for them and they have happily said I can share with you.  Look out for the parrots!

Enjoy.
