When Patricia and Ian met, they very soon discovered their joint love for the Bayern Munich Football Team and this was definitely a theme within their intimate elopement Ceremony in Madeira.
So the big day came, and to greet them at their hotel was myself, Rodolfo their photographer and their driver Miguel. In convoy we travelled to Ponta de São Lourenço, on the east side of Madeira, with it’s dramatic scenery and views of both the north and south of the island, as well as over to the Desertas islands.
Ian wearing his football shirt, they also came prepared with a Bayern Munich flag and one from each of their home countries, Germany and Brazil. As part of their Ceremony, they choose a Handfasting Ceremony, and used a Bayern Munich scarf to drape over their hands for this part of the service. They shared their Vows and exchanged their Rings and then it was time to pronounce them Husband and Wife.
Now for the photos! Rodolfo from The Memory Shop came prepared with a drone and had the couple lying on the cliff top with their flags for a dramatic, unique photo.
With all the couples photos completed, everyone travelled to Funchal to the Blandy’s Wine Lodge where I had organised permission to take photos within the wine barrels. The winery was amazing and the light allowed for some fantastic photography.
The car then returned them to their hotel, to get ready for a night out at The Beer House in Funchal.
This crazy, fun, unique couple made their wedding how they wanted it. It was personal and memorable and filled with everything they love.
They had such a great time that Ian and Patricia are now planning to move to Madeira later this year. I wish them all the happiness in the World and thank them for letting me tell their story.
